The little west Cornwall fishing village is well known for its charms. In fact it was once described by the poet Dylan Thomas, as the loveliest village in England. The village's name comes from the small entrance to the harbour and it is within the harbour that you will find the beach. Mousehole's beach is surprisingly sandy although I have actually heard that the sand was shipped in from Padstow. Wherever the sand came from it makes for a pleasant little beach, or two. The beach has two sections which become separated towards high tide. The slightly larger stretch lies right in front of the village, and the other on the far side of the harbour. Both are equally nice, and safe too. Given how busy the village is in the summer the beach actually rarely gets crowded. This is in part due to the parking which tends to fill up fairly quickly.
