This location is classed as Seaside
Minehead's north-facing sand and shingle beach was almost completely washed away in 1990 by a violent storm. A multimillion pound project to replace the beach and the sea wall was completed in 2001. Good for swimming, kite-surfing and windsurfing, with easy access to amusement arcades, the terminus of the West Somerset Railway and the start of the South West Coast Path.
