Llangrannog would have started life as a rural village attached to a port, but nowadays the beach here is the main draw and one of the best loved in Ceredigion. The beach here sits below a series of craggy cliffs and on what is part of the scenic Wales Coast Path. Llangrannog beach is a family friendly stretch of sand which has lifeguards over the summer months. As well as being ideal for all the usual beach activities and bathing, Llangrannog Beach is popular for watersports including surfing. You can also go sailing here and due to the fresh winds in the area and the slipway. At low tide Llangrannog links to Cilborth Beach to the north and there is a cliff top path between the two beaches. Llangrannog Beach sits close to neighbouring Ynys Lochtyn which is a small peninsula with and island just off its coast which is home to a seal colony.
