This is one of Cornwall's hidden gems, set just around the corner from the Lizard Point - mainland Britain's most southerly point. With turquoise water and fine white sand backing onto the high cliffs this beach is everything you could want from a Cornish cove. Lankidden Cove is only reachable via a one mile walk along the coast path from nearby Kennack Sands. This ensures it is always quiet and often empty. The sand here is gently sloping and swimming is generally safe, although with no lifeguard cover caution is always advised Sheltered behind the imposing headland of Carrick Lûz, the south-facing Lankidden is sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly winds. This impressive headland was once the site of an Iron Age cliff fort.
