More Information...

This beach forms part of the predominantly sandy coastline stretching up the Norfolk coast from Snettisham and around the North Norfolk coast. Unusually for Norfolk, Heacham faces west, which means that it is a good spot to come to watch the sunsets. There are also views across The Wash towards Lincolnshire. The golden, sandy beach is backed by low dunes and there are a number of beach huts to be found along the promenade. It is possible to walk along the promenade all the way to Hunstanton. The lack of restrictions makes this beach quite popular with dog walkers. There is no lifeguard here, although the water, which shelves gently, has been classified as being of excellent quality. It can appear rather cloudy at times, which is due to tidal movement stirring up sediment. Heacham itself offers a number of shops and eateries as well as a variety of amusements which one would expect of a traditional seaside resort.
