Fidden beach is set in a sheltered bay on the west coast of the Isle of Mull. A mix of white, shell sand and pink granite outcrops this is probably the most popular (and best) beach on the island. At a glance, on a sunny day, you may be mistaken you were in the tropics; crystal clear azure water and fine white sand... however, a quick toe in the water will tell you otherwise! Fidden is home to a popular (summer) campsite that is practically on the beach. Fidden is a great place for spotting wildlife, particularly seals which can often be spotted basking on the rocks. You might also see geese, corncrake, various waders and even a mountain hare. This is also a wonderful spot to take in a sunset, with the last rays of the sun turning the granite almost red as it disappears behind Iona to the west.
