Ferryside Beach forms part of the Taff Estuary and is a made up of a long strip of sand mixed with tidal marshes. The beach is located on the River Tywi which is a relatively secluded part of Dyfed. Set across the estuary is the imposing Llansteffan Castle. The beach itself consists of a narrow area of golden sand backed by dunes. In years gone by the beach would have been a popular place to come to pick cockles and you can still explore the pools along the shore line here and search for sea life. Ferryside beach is a quiet spot and many tourists don’t travel here. So if you are looking for a spot to soak up the serene atmosphere of this part of Wales then Ferryside is a great pick.
