Cushendall is a smallish, sandy beach, about 250 meters long, slightly to the north of the town of Cushendall, part of the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is backed by a grassy area, excellent for picnics, and offering superb views over the surrounding mountainous coastline. Behind the grassy area is Cushendall Golf Club. The beach is popular for fishing and there are walking tracks to the north of the beach. A small river mouth is situated at the southern end. Parking and toilet facilities are available at the northern end of the beach opposite the entrance to the golf club, as well as a children’s play area overlooking the beach which can be accessed down a short flight of stairs. Further facilities such as shops, places to eat, and places to stay can be found in the centre of the historic town of Cushendall, a few hundred meters from the beach.
