More Information...

Conwy Morfa is found a short drive from the picturesque town of Conwy on the southern side of the River Conwy estuary. The area is home to a wide expanse of marshy, golden sand backed by a layer of shingle and grassy dunes dominated by the grassy slopes of Mynydd y Dref (Conwy Mountain). When the tide is completely out the beach links up with others in the Colwyn Bay area, but anyone attempting to walk out at low tide needs to check tide times first as some of the sandbanks here can be cut off quickly by the incoming tides. This rural beach is usually less busy than some of the more developed beaches in the area and can be a good spot for building sandcastles. It is also popular with birdwatchers and dog walkers, there being no restrictions on dog walking at any time of the year. This part of the shoreline is a good place to come looking for sea glass although care needs to be taken as there are some sharp pieces of glass and metal here. From Conwy Morfa there are views out over the scenic Conwy Bay shoreline and across the estuary towards Great Orme. Access to the beach is from the small car park just off the North Wales Expressway.
