More Information...

The fishing village of Clogherhead is just close enough to Dublin to make it worth a day trip, but far enough to keep the crowds down. Clogherhead beach is a relatively sheltered sandy stretch which is backed by mature dunes. These are protected under the EU Habitats Directive as they are home to many interesting species of flora and fauna. As a Blue Flag winning beach there are good facilities and access here, and you can rest assured the water is clean and safe; Clogherhead beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season plus it is home to an RNLI lifeboat - the Mersey class Doris Bleasdale. There's plenty to do at Clogerhead both on and off the water. The village is home to an Irish Sailing Association school and Outdoor Education Centre. It is also an attractive stretch of coast; from the headland there are panoramic views of Lambay Island to the south and the Mourne Mountains to the north
