More Information...

Brittas Bay North is the the topmost section of an approximately 4.5 km (3 mile) stretch of sandy coast. The beach here is known for the impressive sand dune system that it backs onto, a Special Area of Conservation. The beach is popular for swimming, with many visitors making the trip down from Dublin at weekends. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards every day from June until September between the hours of 11am and 7pm. At the northern end of the beach there is a small river mouth. It is overlooked by Ballinacarrig Holiday Park. The nearest car park is at Brittas Bay Park, which accesses the centre of the beach along a short path through the sand dunes. Toilet facilities can be found in the car park. The area is popular for golf enthusiasts, with the European Golf Club located to the south of the beach.
