More Information...

Blackwaterfoot Beach, sits next to a small river mouth, adjacent to the village of Blackwater. This part of the Isle of Arran is less developed than the eastern coast and provides a perfect destination for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It offers fine views over Kilbrannan Sound, towards The Kintyre Peninsula. The beach is made up of stretches of golden sand interspersed with ancient rocks. The climate in the area is pleasantly mild thanks to the strong influence of the Gulf Stream. Parking for the beach can be found in the centre of the village, where there are also public toilets. There are more parking spaces adjacent to Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club. During the summer months it can sometimes be difficult to find a parking space as visitors flock to here to experience the natural beauty and lovely views on offer. The village has some hotels, a post office, and a shop, as well as a tiny harbour. Pony rides can be arranged.
