More Information...

Ballyheigue has a long, sandy beach , next to the scenic resort village. Connecting with Banna Strand to the south and Kerry Head to the north, it is part of a long stretch of beaches, backed by dunes, that span for over 10 kilometres in this special area of conservation. This stretch of coast is ideal for taking scenic walks along the coastline. From the shore, there are views out over Tralee Bay and the mountainous Dingle Peninsular to the south. The beach is also popular for swimming and surfing and there is a lifeguard service during the summer months. There is a car park in the village, next to the beach which is accessed down a very short flight of stairs, or via a slipway. Toilets are located by the car park and there is also a children's playground just across the road. In the village there is a shop, a restaurant, and a pub as well as a few hotels and holiday parks. Ballyheigue Castle Golf Club is to the north of the beach.
